Our Student Council is excited to celebrate Halloween Spirit Week while also recognizing Red Ribbon Week — a time to promote living drug free and making healthy choices!
We’ve planned a week full of fun and creative dress-up days for everyone to enjoy. Check out the calendar below to see what each day’s theme is!
Let’s show our school spirit, have some fun, and remind everyone that life is way more fun when you’re drug free! ❤️💀🎃

Digital Citizenship isn't a one-time lesson—it's an ongoing conversation! ✅ As this week wraps up, let's commit to keeping the discussion going all year long. New apps, games, and challenges pop up constantly, so open communication is key.
Tip for Parents: Ask open-ended questions about their digital life regularly, without judgment:
"What's one cool thing you saw online today?"
"Have you ever seen something online that made you feel uncomfortable?"
Resource Alert! Check out free guides and tips from organizations like Common Sense Media for age-appropriate advice on tech use.
Thank you for partnering with us to raise thoughtful, responsible digital citizens! 🌟

🚨 Game Day Alert! 🚨

This week, we showed our appreciation with a fun Apple Bar to celebrate all the dedication and hard work our staff put in as they prepared for Parent-Teacher Conferences. ❤️
If you weren’t able to make it to conferences, no worries! Please reach out to your child’s teacher to set up a time to connect and chat about how your child is doing at school.

In the age of AI and misinformation, Media Literacy is a superpower! 🦸♀️ Our students are constantly bombarded with information online—how can they tell what's real and what's fake?
Tip for Parents: Play the "Fact Check Detective" game! When you see a strange or unbelievable headline on your newsfeed, show your child how to:
Check the source: Is it a credible organization?
Look at the date: Is the information current?
Verify with a second source: Do other trusted sites report the same thing?
Help them develop their critical thinking skills so they don't accidentally spread misinformation! 🧐

Digital spaces should be safe and kind! This week, let's emphasize Digital Empathy. Mean comments, exclusion, or sharing rumors online is a form of cyberbullying and can be deeply hurtful. 💔
Tip for Parents: Encourage your child to be an "Upstander," not a bystander. If they see something unkind online, they should:
STOP engaging.
SAVE the evidence (screenshot).
SEEK HELP from a trusted adult.
Remind them of the Golden Rule: Treat others online the way you'd want to be treated in person.

We invite all parents and families to join us for Parent-Teacher Conferences Thursday (4-6pm)! This is a great opportunity to meet with your child’s teachers, discuss their progress, and work together to support their success.

Everything we post, share, or 'like' creates a permanent Digital Footprint! 👣 Did you know that what your child shares today could impact their college applications or job interviews years from now?
Tip for Parents: Have an honest chat about online privacy. Review privacy settings on their favorite apps together. Teach them to ask: "Is this post or photo something I'd want everyone to see, forever?" Remind them that not all information needs to be shared, and their personal details are valuable.

It's Digital Citizenship Week (October 20-24)! 📱💻 This is the perfect time to talk to your kids about being safe, respectful, and responsible online. Our first focus? Media Balance!
🤔 Ask your child: What's their favorite thing to do online, and what's their favorite thing to do offline?
Tip for Parents: Try a "Device-Free Dinner" tonight! Modeling a healthy balance between screen time and real-life connections is the #1 way to teach them this vital skill.

It's School Bus Safety Week, and we need your help keeping our students safe!
A child's most vulnerable moment is when they are getting on or off the school bus. Remember, the flashing red lights and extended stop arm mean traffic MUST STOP in both directions (unless there's a median or barrier).
Ignoring the stop arm is a serious risk and a significant violation. Let's make every bus ride a safe ride. Stop for the Stop Arm!
Here is a video created by the Nebraska State Patrol about School Bus Stop Arm Awareness.

Thank you to the Lightning Horse drum and everyone that attended the Cultural Enrichment Program. 💙💛

🧫🍎 Science gets creative!
Mrs Garlejo's sophomore Biology class took learning to a whole new level by building cell models out of fruit and play dough! Students showed off their understanding of cell parts while getting hands-on (and a little messy) with their creations. 🧠✨
Who knew learning about cells could be this a-peel-ing? 🍇🍌

Happening tomorrow afternoon

AND WE'RE OFF! Come join us for fall clean-up! 1:00-3:30 TODAY! 🍂🍁

The Varsity Volleyball game tonight against Walthill has been forfeited due to insufficient player numbers.
Our Fall Clean-Up has been rescheduled to tomorrow, and we could use all the helping hands we can get! We’ll be heading out around the neighborhood to tidy up and make our community shine before winter. ☺️
If you’re able to join us, we’d love to have your support. We will begin at 1:00 pm. We do have supplies available if you need them—just show up ready to lend a hand and help us make a difference!
Thank you for always coming together to support our school and community. We couldn’t do it without you! 🤎🧡💛
