









On February 10, 2026, the School Board approved a new directive regarding the No Cell Phone Ban. This decision will take effect on February 17, 2026.

Student Cell Phone & Personal Device Expectations
No Phones in the Building
To maintain a focused, safe, and respectful learning environment, Isanti Community School enforces a strict No Phone Policy for all students in grades K–12.
Expectations
• Cell phones and personal electronic devices are not allowed in the school building at any time.
• Devices must be left at home or secured in a student’s vehicle before entering the building.
• Phones may not be carried in pockets, backpacks, lockers, or clothing of any kind.
• If a phone is seen at any time (including in a pocket, waistband, or backpack), it will be confiscated immediately.
• This includes, but is not limited to: cell phones, smart watches, earbuds, headphones, tablets, or any device capable of calling, texting, recording, or accessing social media, unless pre-approved for medical or instructional purposes.
Bringing a device into the building is considered a violation of this policy, regardless of whether the device is being used.
Consequences for Violations
First Offense
• Device is confiscated.
• In-School Suspension (ISS) for the remainder of the day.
• Meeting with administration, teacher, and student.
• Policy is revisited; next steps are discussed, documented, and signed.
Second Offense
• Out-of-School Suspension (OSS) – 1 day.
• Meeting with administration, teacher, and student.
• Policy and expectations reviewed; next steps are discussed, documented, and signed.
Third Offense
• Out-of-School Suspension (OSS) – 2 days.
• Meeting with administration, teacher, and student.
• Policy and expectations reviewed; next steps are discussed, documented, and signed.
Fourth Offense
• Out-of-School Suspension (OSS) – 3 days.
• Meeting with administration, teacher, and student.
• Policy and expectations reviewed; next steps are discussed, documented, and signed.
Additional Notes
• Refusal to surrender a device when requested may result in immediate escalation of consequences.
• The school is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged devices brought onto campus.
• Exceptions may be made only for documented medical or educational needs with administrative approval.


Isanti Community School will be CLOSED tomorrow, Friday, February 13, due to student and staff illness. This includes all after-school activities and events.
We are taking this time to allow everyone to recover and rest. We expect to see everyone back on Tuesday, February 17.
