We're having a blast in 3rd grade making multiplication fun and hands-on by using play dough to build and break apart arrays. Students are learning that they can simplify tricky multiplication facts by adding and subtracting equal groups, which is a great way to build a deeper understanding of the concepts and teach the Distributive property.

They're not just memorizing facts, they're seeing how multiplication works!

After school program, nature walk today! Students learned of several different edible plants growing on the school grounds, found eight varieties of flowers, a couple of different insects and learned all about golden rod and how it can be used for medicinal qualities! After school program is Monday through Thursday and goes until 515. Permission slips were handed out last week if you need another have your student ask.
